Help us test Gedam
Gedam is in beta on iPhone. Testers check the calendar, the prayers and the daily rule against their own church before Gedam reaches everyone. It is free, and it takes a few minutes a day.
Who we are looking for
Every church, every kind of eye
You do not need to be technical. You only need to know your church and be willing to tell us what you see.
Priests and deacons
Check the fasts, the feasts and the prayers against what your parish keeps. Nobody can catch a liturgical error better.
The faithful of every church
Ethiopian, Eritrean, Coptic, Armenian, Syriac and Malankara. Each church keeps its own calendar, so we need people from all six to look at their own.
Seekers and converts
If you are new to Orthodoxy, you will see what is unclear to someone who did not grow up with it. That is exactly what we need to hear.
Careful hands
If you like finding what breaks, try it on your phone, in light and dark mode, and tell us anything that looks wrong or slow.
What to test this round
Four things we most want to know
Keep it simple. Even one of these, answered honestly, helps.
- 1
Is the calendar right for your church?
Look at today and the next few days: the date in your church's calendar, the fast, the feast and the saint.
- 2
Does the daily rule make sense?
Keep a devotion or two. Do the candles, the flame and the ascent make sense without anyone explaining them?
- 3
Does anything read wrong?
In the prayers, the readings or the Library: a word, a translation or a teaching that is not how your church says it.
- 4
Does anything look broken?
Text cut off, a button that does nothing, a screen that is slow or looks wrong on your particular phone.
How to tell us
Three ways to send feedback
From inside the app
Take a screenshot while using Gedam, then tap Share Beta Feedback. TestFlight sends us the picture, your note and your phone model.
On any day in the calendar
Open a day and tap "Something look wrong? Tell us". The message arrives with the date and your church already filled in.
By email
Write to [email protected] about anything at all. We read every message.
Become a tester
We use your name and email only to send you the beta link and tester updates. You can unsubscribe at any time. See our Privacy Policy.
What to expect
Before you join
- iPhone and iPad only, for now. TestFlight is Apple's beta app; it installs Gedam for you.
- Free. Nothing to buy, now or in the beta.
- Ages 13 and up.
- Updates arrive by themselves. Each new build appears in TestFlight; a build stays open for 90 days.
- It is a beta. Something may break, and that is what you are helping us find.
Not on iPhone? Get launch updates and we will tell you the moment Gedam arrives.
